SAN FRANCISCO — A “No Muslim Ban Ever” vigil was held Oct. 9 in front of San Francisco City Hall to protest the Trump Administration’s immigration policies.
More than 200 people, about 50 of them from the Asian Pacific Islander community, expressed opposition to the proposed travel ban on Muslim-majority countries and solidarity with Muslim Americans.
The API contingent included members of JACL (San Francisco, Berkeley and Contra Costa chapters), Nikkei Resisters, Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach, Japanese Latin Americans, Buddhist Church of San Francisco, Chinese for Affirmative Action, Chinese Progressive Association and others.
The vigil was organized by CAIR-San Francisco Bay Area, Arab Resource & Organizing Center, National Iranian American Council, Black Alliance for Just Immigration, and Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Asian Law Caucus.
