Fall Festival at First Presbyterian Church

DCF 1.0

ALTADENA — First Presbyterian Church, 2775 Lincoln Ave. in Altadena, will hold its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 17, from3 to 8 p.m.

At this festival, the legacy of the church, which was founded in 1913 by Issei immigrants, will be observed by the recognition of long-time members, most of whom are Nisei and have been church members for over 60 years. It is hoped that many Japanese Americans in the Pasadena-area community will attend the festival to honor these members and to enjoy a time of fellowship with them and other people whom they have not seen for a long time.

Also to be featured are the usual mouth-watering delights, including teriyaki chicken, chirashi sushi, and hamburgers. There will be game booths for young children, a boutique, a bake shop, an art exhibit, and raffle prizes.

Live entertainment will be provided by the Hawaiian dance group Kuhai Halau ‘O Ke Kukui Malamalama and the Makoto Taiko drum ensemble.

Admission is free and the public is welcome. For more information, call (626) 791-4271 or visit the church’s website at www.firstpresbyterianchurchaltadena.org.
