Hilty & Bosch, Takarabune to Perform ‘Awa-Hop’

The Japan Foundation Los Angeles will present “Awa-Hop” on Monday, March 18, at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.) at El Rey Theatre, 5515 Wilshire Blvd. in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles.
“Awa-Hop” is a dance show featuring a two-man street dance unit from Japan, Hilty & Bosch, and the Awa Odori entertainment troupe Takarabune.
Hilty & Bosch’s phenomenal dance performances are astonishing people around the world. On YouTube, their videos have received over 35 million views. They have made appearances on five continents, in over 30 countries, and in 150 major cities in shows, workshops, TV programs, as judges, and more.
Takarabune
Takarabune is a creative dance company that performs Awa Odori, a style of Japanese dance with a history of more than 400 years. The members are mostly in their twenties, and many have more than 15 years of experience. They have performed in 14 countries and over 38 cities. These dancers challenge the boundary between “traditional” and “contemporary” with their innovative, passionate performances.
