“Japan: A Reverence for Beauty,” a photography exhibit by Gil Garcetti, will be on display at the George J. Doizaki Gallery, Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, from Nov. 6 to Dec. 11.

Opening reception will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m.

In his book 2015 book “Japan: Reverence for Beauty” (Balcony Press), Garcetti’s lush photographs, accompanied by thought-provoking essays from experts in Japanese artistic disciplines, address a unique quality of Japanese culture: the appreciation of and need for beauty — both man-made and natural — in virtually every aspect of life.
