Fundraiser Sunday for Injured OCO Basketball Player
HUNTINGTON BEACH — Ironmen Basketball Training will hold its third annual Dribble For Fundraising this Sunday, Nov. 20, at Ocean View High School in Huntington Beach.
Mike Hoide was injured in a biking accident in Arizona.
The focus of this year’s skills clinic and barbecue is assisting the recovery of longtime Orange Coast Optimist basketball player Mike Hoide, who suffered a devastating brain injury in a bicycle accident at Northern Arizona University. While now recovering, he and his family have a large financial burden from doctors, hospitals and rehabilitation. Sunday’s event aims to help relieve that burden.
Hoide began playing in OCO at the age of 9 and continued through his last tournament at the age of 21.
The clinic schedule is as follows:
Grades K-5 – 2:30-4:00 p.m.
Grades 6-12 – 4:00-5:30 p.m.
The cost is $20 per player. Bring your own ball.
Ocean View High is located at 17071 Gothard St. in Huntington Beach. For more information, visit www.ironmenbasketball.com.
