Comedy Comedy Festival Coming to JACCC

The Musical Musical Show is part of the Comedy Comedy Festival.

The second annual Comedy Comedy Festival: A Comedy Festival will take place from Aug. 25 to 28 at JACCC Plaza and Aratani Theatre, 244 S. San Pedro St., Little Tokyo.

The lineup of 91 Asian American comics and comedy troupes includes Anna Akana (a comedian and actress with 1.5 million YouTube subscribers), Parvesh Cheena (“Outsourced”), Cherry Chevapravatdumrong (“Family Guy”), Cold Tofu, Amy Hill (“UnREAL,” “Just Add Magic”), Helen Hong (Nickelodeon’s “The Thundermans”), Ravi Patel (“Meet the Patels”), Asif Ali and Ally Maki (“Wrecked”), Lynn Chen (“Saving Face”), Suzy Nakamura, Albert Tsai and Krista Marie Yu (“Dr. Ken”), Randall Park (“Fresh Off the Boat”), Dani Pudi (“Community”), Vince Rodriguez III (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”), Room to Improv, Stir Friday Night, and Yellow Fever.

The show is produced by Jenny Yang, a Los Angeles-based writer and standup comedian who also produces the mostly female Asian American standup comedy tour Disorietned Comedy. This year she was honored as a White House Champion of Change for Asian American and Pacific Islander Art and Storytelling. She is a frequent collaborator on viral Buzzfeed videos that have amassed over 20 million combined views, and an actor in numerous digital projects, including Comedy Central’s “White Flight.”
