Black Day with Cold Tofu

Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) celebrates couples and love. On White Day (March 14), celebrated in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China, the gift-giving is reciprocated. On Black Day, celebrated a month later on April 14, singles celebrate by eating bowls of jja jjang myun (black bean noodles).

If you’re single, this day celebrates YOU. So come to Cold Tofu’s Black Day Improv Show on Thursday, April 14, at 8 p.m. at 6201 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

Cold Tofu company cast: Helen Ota, Jully Lee, Michael Palma, Aaron Aoki, Jhemon Lee, Will Choi, Johnny Ye, Misa Nguyen and Tony Garbanzos, with all-star guest musician Allen Simpson.

Admission: $7. Running time: 75 minutes. Metered parking available on Santa Monica Boulevard and free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Come early to give yourself plenty of time to find parking.
